To: The Executive Committee Toronto
With great pleasure I would like to thank you all for one of the best 2008 School Reunion I have ever attended and I am sure that all the ex -students and teachers of the Norman Godinho School and their off springs will agree with me.
"The Good Times Stage Show"was outstanding to say the least, full of vitality, funny(I laughed so much it was just great, i felt i was back there in time) classy, perfectly organized and professionally handled and you should all, especially the Directors of the Stage Show Committee & the Executive Committee, be very proud of the achievements and final results of such a successful evening! One can appreciate the efforts and hard work that was put into it to synchronize with such precision an unforgettable memorable "Joyous journey (even the kickers down, kneeling and hands whacking punishment that i hardly remembered brought tears of laughter to my eyes) of yesteryears at Norman Godinho School days". For me it was like a time travel period and quite unforgettable.
It was my great pleasure to donate the painting of the "Buganda Girl in front of the Norman Godinho School" for the Stage Show and i thank you all for the handling, printing of same in the Year Book, & Stage Show Programme. This donation made me feel that at least i was contributing personally a part of me for the Reunion event although i was thousands of miles away.
The evening of the Gala/Dinner was perfect in itself, an evening of "Bliss & Grace" i would say. It was like in the movies and i felt i was watching a movie through a window, but i too was actually taking part in this movie & how privileged i felt to be part of it! I sat apart for awhile in my own thoughts and glimpsed at the scenes of how friends joined together in laughter & joy, in dancing, or groups who looked for their friends, mates and teachers to take pictures with, and i thought how lucky we all were that this period in time had brought us together once more!
The excitement of being with childhood friends, ex- students and teachers who shared and still share such an unquestionable lifetime bond with each other even after 30 - 40 years or more, is a unique blessing for all of us, successfully planned and executed by an " Executive Team" to be congratulated.
Thank you once again.
God Bless
Lily Rinon-Solomon
To Stan and all the members of the Norman Godionho School Reunion Committee.
First our heartiest congratulations and deep appreciation of the excellent job you all did. Of course we recognize the tremendous time & effort you all expended to organize this.
Every event was so well planned and carried out with great efficiency bundled with smiling & welcoming faces. the welcome before the vaiety show was such a great idea enabling us to meet with each other at the start. The "mogo" was also a great touch!
It was also great, giving us a proud realization & appreciation and enjoyment to see the talents & skills displayed by our Goans, specially the youngsters - not excluding the great performances by the not so young. It was so much enjoyable fun.
We had a wonderful time meeting old friends, classmates & teachers. Personally we also had a family reunion with my family from London & Ottawa.
I will treasure the memoris of this Reunion together with the Year Book & placemat.
Thank you all for the extensive time & hard work for giving us the joy of this Reunion. God bless you all and your families it must have been a strain on them too.
Once again many many thanks

Hey Stan, just wanted to thank you and rest of the exec. committee and sub-committee for the way you guys put up the function. It was excellent and I know a lot of work and time went into making this occassion a success that it was. My sincere gratitude.
Just waiting for the DVD.

Hi Stan: Have just returned from Vancouver and, although still a little jetlagged, I wanted to congratulate you and all your committee members on a fantastic reunion! I can imagine how much planning, effort and time went into the organization of every detail and can only state that it was very well worth it. It is unbelievable that you all managed it within the relatively small ticket charge from the participants - obviously, you had to work hard on getting donations.
Thank you all very much and I hope you all have now had a chance to recover from all the hard work.
Regards,
Selina
P.S. It was a pleasure to meet your daughter and to see her on stage as well.
Dear Executive Committee Heartiest congratulations for organising the NGS Reunion with such panache. Clearly a lot of effort and organisational skills over the past 16 months have gone into making the Reunion such a roaring success. Raymond and I were delighted to attend the Reunion and we had a wonderful time meeting so many people. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality and kindness. We have not stopped talking about the Reunion as we have such lovely memories.
God bless you all.
With very best wishes for the future
Lorna and Raymond
PS:
Teacher Alice also thanks you for all your kindness and warm hospitality. She says she is very glad she attended the Reunion which she enjoyed so very much and will remember the three days with such fondness. She has been singing your praises to everyone in England.
Just a quick note to you Stan and all the committee to let you know that you did a fantastic job on the reunion.
Not only was it wonderful to see all the faces of people we schooled with, the whole "experience" was delightful.
Your committee worked very hard with remarkable results -- I was totally impressed with how well the events were organized....and talk about "value" for your money, the amount of food and gifts were tremendous.
Thank you very much.

Hi Stan and the organizing committee:
This past weekend has been a super one. It was nice to meet fellow students that visited from overseas and across US and Canada. You guys did a great job in the three events that I attended. You had unique ideas and no doubt, executed them well.
Once again, congratulations to all of you on a job really well done.
Sincerely,
William Fernandes
Hi Stan
Avril and myself have just recently come back after an absolutely fabulous time at the Norman Godhino Reunion in Toronto.
We could not fault anything about the occasion from the Stage Show to the Gala Dance to the Picnic - The food at all the functions was incredible and the time, effort and planning of these events was remarkable. It brought us back 35 years to our time in Kampala and without the dedication and hard work of all the committee members we realize that such an outstanding occasion would not have been possible.
We would like to thank you all for volunteering your time to put together this first class reunion and want you to know that all your hard work is appreciated.
Carol Constable (de Souza)
Congratulations on organizing such a fabulous weekend. Obviously a tremendous amount of thought and preparation went into arranging this Reunion as every small detail was covered with such class and style. All the food provided was terrific. I only hope you were able to enjoy it half as much as I did - my cheeks still hurt and I have lost my voice but it is all good :). Meeting classmates from Grade 1 and neighbours from when I was a toddler gave such a sense of community and we are all planning on keeping in touch!
Once again 'Thank you' to the Executive Committee and all the sub-committees for putting on such a marvellous Reunion.
Avril de Souza
Congratulations to the NSG Committee for ‘THE REUNION” which was a tremendous success, from the stage show to the Picnic. Even a Swiss watch wouldn’t function as well as the precision every occasion was organized and orchestrated. The miserable weather too could not dampen the spirit that the committee created. You deserve a standing ovation and more.
This email was to be sent last week; however we are still on a high and continue to celebrate.

Hi Stan and your Committee,
You all did such a wonderful job organizing the Norman Godinho School Reunion, it was fanstastic. Every thing was so meticulas and classy, especially for
the price you charged us. I was really happy that I could meet 15 of my classmates and a few teachers.too.
Thank you and God Bless.

Hello Stan and the Executive Committee!
Liesse and I wish to thank you and all those people, too numerous to mention here, but whose names appear in the re-union program , who dreamt that glorious weekend and then spared no effort to make those dreams come true. Yes, you the members of the Executive Committe and your helpers pulled off a memorable feat - not an easy task for sure!
Thank you for bringing back those prayers of our morning assemblies - those were not prayers for the day, they were prayers for all time, for all of those connected with the N.G. School- the Godinho family, those who have passed on, those who experienced the trauma and suffering of the forced evacuation, those who could not atend and all of us, students, teachers and well wishers who could.
Don't mind me introducing a downer, but I felt the teachers who attended deserved a little more introduction and recognition - their appearance as a prop on the stage did not quite do the job!
Stan, I realize you must be one of the busiest individuals on earth tying loose ends after organizing such a successful event, but I would appreciate you taking a moment to mail me the picture i lent the exec. comm. My address is as follows:
Thanks and best wishes!
Eugene.
